Does my DS 13 need to shave?

My DS (13.5) is starting high school in September. The hair on his top lip has started to darken and is beginning to be noticeable but not thick and wiry like a mans yet. Does he need to shave it or should he leave it for a while? Not sure what current etiquette is about bum fluff!

There’s no ‘etiquette’. If he wants to shave it then he should. If he doesn’t, then that’s fine

My DS has just started shaving at 12.5 as kids at school were starting to be unkind about it - definite bum fluff but thick black hair so.....

Kids at ours seem to leave it, there’s quite a few full beards by the end of GCSEs

Definitely shave it, upper lip bum fluff isn't a good look.

Thanks everyone I'm going to talk to Him about it tonight and see what he wants to do

It depends what he wants to do as shaving everyday is a huge pain. I had a full beard at 13, Monday was my first clean shave since being 13.
