I've name changed for this as previously been flamed for my daughters hobby!

I have two children, to two different dads. Eldest hasn't seen her father in a contact sense since she was 3, youngest has never met her dad. My partner of 6 years has helped me raise the girls.

Eldest has been a dancer/gymnast for 5 years and a model/actress for around 2 years but has never had that "break". We've attended numerous castings, much to my hatred as I'm not keen on the whole process but it's what she wants to do, all of which have come to nothing. Until now. She was successful for a massive international company to do a TV advert, internet and billboard campaign. The shoot takes place abroad next week, and will be seen in the UK and abroad from "fall", which I presume is October time. Although she has been none contact with her dad for 7 years, we do live not too far from each other so they've bumped into each other, passed pleasantries etc so he knows what she looks like. Long story as to why he doesn't see her more often, but was his choice.

So, my question is, do I inform him that his daughter will soon be seen on TV? That he might be stood next to a big picture of her at a bus stop? I've not spoken to him in years, but I do have his number. There haven't been any bad ground between us, just unfortunate circumstances. I've asked my daughter as she just said "why?!", but I think that's just an attitude thing. WWYD?

Surely if he hasn’t seen her for years he won’t recognise her so it’s a none issue.

I wouldn't bother my arse with him. If he's shown no interest in her till now he doesn't deserve to hear about her successes.

I wouldn't mention it personally.

@hormonesorDHbeingadick he does see her in passing. He last saw her around Christmas time when we happened to be in the same pub. They didn't speak to each other though.

I wouldn’t bother. It sounds like he hasn’t done anything to earn that level of consideration.

You also risk him being angry because a lot of people would be very opposed to using children in this manner.

Although given that he has wanted nothing to do with his daughter for her entire life it sounds like he probably wouldn’t give a shit.

@user1480880826 I'm not using her, but I do understand what you mean as people don't like children in this industry.

My actual other thought on it was that he might shout from the rooftops about it, portray the "proud dad" when actually he doesn't have anything to do with her. Years ago I found out he had a picture of her on his tinder, presumably to show that he was a dad but it she was 2 in the picture and by that point I think she was about 6?
