Teething

DS 21 months seems to be cutting all four canines at once, I can just see the bottom right and left poking through and at the top it’s just 2 bulges of white, where clearly the teeth are getting ready to come through.

Anyway my question is, he has never been as irritable with his teeth as he is at the moment! all the rest came through with a little bit of upset and calpol! This time he’s up every other hour through the night screaming, screaming when I put bonjela on or try to give medicine, he’s got shocking dribble rash and it’s like a different really unhappy child at the minute! It’s awful to see but I’m at a loss on what to give for the pain? He has a brushbaby teether, teething powders (which he hates), calpol and bonjela but nothing seems to be taking the edge off! Is there anything else I can try?

Just to add he seems to be worse at night! And chews his fingers all night long.

Anbesol liquid from the pharmacy. Dab it on the end of your finger and rub on gums. You can only use 1 drop twice a day as overdosing causes seizure
I save this for very bad times... To allow him respite. My little one is teething bad right now with 3molars at once 😭
It numbs the gum completely

Apart from that everything your doing sounds like what i am. Looooooads of cuddles and reassurance.

I also make ice lollys with his baby yoghurt so I think the cold helps too.

Hope your little ones teeth hurry up n get through.... Poor lil things

@Surfskatefamily will definitely give amnesia a try!! It’s horrible isn’t it, I’m not gonna lie I was really worried at first till I saw his teeth coming through Blush I have just never known him be this angry/irritable!

Haha... A bit of amnesia about the teething experience may help later 😂

It's so unfair isn't it. My lil boy ends up having the runs and whining loads. I feel awful for him but also feel like bashing my head against a wall! Stressful

Nurofen is better than calpol for teething. Anbesol liquid (not gel) is also very good. You can use calpol and anbesol together.

@Surfskatefamily bless him, I feel the exact same as you and yes maybe amnesia would help the experience Grin! Yeah my DS gets the runs too! Tried nurofen before but he’s always sick after so don’t like to give him it, will definitely try anbesol though!
