Food Rating 3 at Nursery

I’ve just realised after some googling that my babi’s nursery has a food rating of 3. I don’t know why I never checked before or thought to check!

He’s starting in 2 weeks. Would this bother you?

Hmmmm. I think personally it would bother me a bit yeah. But that's just me - everyone will have their own opinions of course. I get a bit squirmy when I think about food hygiene. But 3 is still fine right? It's not like they failed. And I guess it depends why they got a 3 too. Is it hygiene related or more structural/equipment related I wonder.

What would you do? Find another nursery?

They’ve obviously been hiding it as it’s nowhere stuck onln the building or on their website. I should have checked!

They had been rated 5 before by googling it.

you used to be able to get the breakdown of why they were awarded what they were. when I worked in hospitality I was marked down a star because of a dent in a fridge. it had no impact on the running of it, paint was in tact and was on the outside! it should just be on the actual food hygiene such as cleanliness but they knock stars off for really daft things as well!

I agree with @EscapeTheOrdinary that is what I was getting at. If it were for hygiene or food safety reasons then yes I think I would look for somewhere else. If it were something trivial like a bit of damaged equipment I would stick. I would ask if you can get the full report somehow. I'm not sure how you go about doing that though.
