Cloth nappy question

About to start using cloth nappies on my 3 month dd. However have some questions from the experts out there.....

I have the Mothereeze system that our council provide. There are some "Sammies" nappies in small and some one size nappies. One rikki wrap and one air flow wrap and liners etc. Problem is no instructions whatsoever....I get how the nappies work etc but which ones are best to use on her. Do I really need the wrap on as it seems to make it all quite bulky. Which wrap goes with which nappy IYSWIM?????

they are all interchangable so you can use eitheir the rikki or the airflow with either the one size or the sandy's, you do need the wrap as this is what makes it waterproof, I got away without using wraps on DS2 for the first week of his life as he didn't wee much then, after that his clothes etc would have been sodden if no wrap was used. Out of the combinations yoou have the sandy's and a rikki wrap will give the slimmest fit on a 3 month old

The nappies you have do need the wrap over them otherwise they won't be waterproof, and you'll end up changing the nappy (and your baby's clothes) every time s/he wees...

There are no set rules as to which wrap goes with which nappy - try the wraps you have over the nappies, and see which fits better, ie doesn't gape around the legs or waist - the elastic needs to fit snuggly, otherwise the nappy will leak. It depends on how big your baby is as to whether the small nappies fit.

Personally I love airflow wraps: I very rarely get leaks with them. But they do look bulky when you put them on your baby, but they do squash down under clothes. What size are the wraps? They come in different sizes, and do need to be the right size for the baby to work properly.

Have a look here for more info. Hth

Thank you so much. Sandy's not Sammies-whoops!! She has a Sandy's on now with the meduium air flow on which seems fine. The rikki is a small and seems a bit small. Will have to get a few more wraps and see how we go. Thanks for your help and for link. I promise I am not as dosy as I sound!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Do they do "pretty" girly wraps anywhere that are any good. After two boys I am loving the frilly thing and her frilly knickers won't fit over the cloth nappies under dresses!!!

Nature babies do some very pretty wraps. Not everyone gets on with them though, but I find they're a great fit on my LO.

Also Fuzzi Bunz look fab, especially the new pink gingham flowers one.
