Hello all, I am feeling very bad and sad right now as my 4 year old daughter is having tonsillitis again for the 3rd time in 8 weeks. She was prescribed antibiotics on 2 occasions she's had it. Last episode was less than a month ago when she was prescribed penicillin for 10 days & I made sure she completed the course as it was the 2nd time she was having it within weeks.
She woke up with very high temperature this morning, no appetite at all and I just thought it will pass and gave her paracetamol and kept monitoring her. Her condition didn't improve as it seems the paracetamol wasn't calming the temperature & I decided to take her to the doctors 1st thing Friday morning.
I then asked her to open (tonight) her mouth and saw she's got pose on both sides of her throat inside. It's the infection again. Now I am worried and ashamed that she's getting this infection a 3rd time in 8 weeks.
Why is she getting this? My home is very clean & tidy and I do tell her & her brother and make sure they wash their hands as often as possible especially after using the toilet or potty. All plates, cutleries and bottles are clean, clean clothes as they wear clothes ones not twice.
The only thing coming to mind is the fact that I have being hand washing dishes for the past 3 - 4 months ( if not more ) as my dishwasher broke down and only just getting one delivered on Monday.
Could it be that i am not washing her milk bottles properly? The thought of that terrifies me and makes me deeply ashamed & embarrassed. I am planning to throw all her munchkins non-spill cups in the bin.
I am taking her to the GP in the morning and thinking they might wonder and ask y she's getting this infection back to back.
Any ideas, suggestions, thoughts on this matter pls
