DD, nearly 4, has started wetting every day

DD will be 4 in Oct and she's been toilet trained for about a year. She was a dream to do - all done and dusted in 3 days, no hassle. However, over the last 3 months she's started to wet herself pretty much every day - usually at home, and usually in the afternoon. There have been no changes to her life, no illnesses, nothing at all out of the ordinary.
Does anyone have any experience of a similar problem? Although she does want to get dried off, she doesn't seem at all upset at having wet herself.
Any advice welcome, thanks.

possibly a urine infection, its a common side effect.

Yes, get checked out for UTI. This happened with my dd (though she was wetting more than once a day). Easily treated with antibiotics.

Thanks. Were there any other symptoms apart from the wetting?

Hi Birly, Yes there are other signs, normally there wee has a stronger smell, and can look abit cloudy. A UTI can also make them quite poorly, so its best to get it checked.

However my DD1 also had this problem at around the same age, and i found that as she gained more confidence she was just leaving it longer than normal before she went, so if she dosent have a UTI, i would just go back to basics and remind her a little more often.

Have to say there were no other symptoms at all, other than the wetting. She didn't complain of burning/stinging or anything, nor did the urine smell offensive. So I think it's always best to check... if only just to rule it out. Hope she's ok

Thanks all. Sorry for late reply - we've been away all weekend and there has been no wetting! Hurrah! Am hoping we've turned a corner but, if not, will get it checked out. Thanks again - a UTI would never have crossed my mind.

Just for future incase problem occurs again. went through the same with my dd. Toilet trained just before turned 2 all of her own accord, absolute doddle. However, she hit 2 1/2 and just wee'd constantly! I tried everything. She didn't have water infection or any illness, cold or similar. It went on for months and it was living hell, basically! On the day of her brothers birthday I asked her if we could try and have dry knicks all day, she asked why, and i just replied simply that it would be nice! We've never had a daytime accident from that day!!
