My grand-daughter is coming on 5 and we have just moved to a new area. She was invited to her friends 6th birthday party and on arriving I was absolutely gobsmacked and not a little bemused.
Held in a village hall there must have been 50+ kids all around 5/6 years with an entertainment company who provided a 3 hours non stop "fun", a snack, face painting, party games, plus a goody bag for each child to take home.
I had thought perhaps a dozen or so. Am I really that far behind the times???

30 wouldn’t be unusual for a whole class party but 50 sounds a lot! But obviously we’ll organised. I’d say around 20-30 (though of 30 invites I’d expect 5-8 refusals) is more normal. As kids get older they start inviting their friends not the whole class.
