2yo won't sit down in bath?!

My DD2 had a poo accident in the bath a couple of weeks ago and since then refuses to sit in the bath!

She's not had many of these kind of accidents - this is prob the second once since she was born tbh. As soon as it happened i just took her out of the bath - said 'don't worry, it's all ok, mummy will clean up', keeping it light & breezy as didn't want her to think she did something wrong..

Since then, she refuses to sit down in the bath - just touches her crotch and keeps saying poo even though she doesn't seem to want to poo?!

It's not a big deal as we just give her a wash standing up and she still plays with the water etc but i feel sad she won't sit down now and enjoy a nice bath! She loved them before!

Has anyone had a similar experience or any advice on what i could do?!

Could you introduce something new to distract her? Loads of bubbles? A toy for under the water? Bath jigsaw/crayons? I would say generally continue to gently encourage but otherwise ignore and it’ll pass on its own. Assume you’re already sitting on toilet pre bath?

would she sit on a pretty bath mat or bright little towel, could you get in with her and sit down, make it fun time.

Poor little baby! Just go with it and act as though everything is perfectly normal, because honestly it is! She will get beyond this shortly, I'm sure.

My toddler when through a phase of wanting to stand up. I got a bubble machine but would only turn it on when he was sat down. It lasted about 3 weeks.

Mine did the same, it passed within a couple of weeks.

Do you have a shower? She might be happier in the shower.

My dd 2y is the same! Only difference being she doesn't mind pooing in the bath even if she's in there with her brother Envy
