Babysitting help!!!!

I'm babysitting an 18 month old and the temperature on his monitor says 24 degrees. He's wearing a long sleeved babygrow and a thin gro bag. Will he be okay? He's been asleep for two hours so I really don't want to go in unless it's absolutely necessary cos I think it'll wake him up.

There is a chart that advises what they should wear at what temp, I will try and find for you.

I think that sounds a lot of layers, but our son kicks his off all the time and I think I do dress him on the light side for bed, I always prefer a bit cooler to too hot,but maybe that's just me.

Awww, I wouldn't stress too much. It's not like he's a young baby who'd be at risk of SIDS. The worst that's likely to happen is he wakes crying!

Is his window open? You could create a draft by opening his bedroom door (prop it open with something so it doesn't slam shut) and other windows around the house too. Is there a fan anywhere obvious? If he wakes give him cool water to sip. Toddlers are usually fairly heavy sleepers so you could always (very slowly) ease his sleeping bag off.

If you're really worried contact the parents and ask what they'd like you to do.

My DDs room is 25 and she was in a sleepsuit and sleeping bag until about 20 mins ago when I went in and she was sweating! I’ve just taken her sleeping bag off and put the fan on in there. She did stir a bit but has settled again quite easily. It didn’t feel that warm at all when I put her to bed so feel a bit bad now!

Can you creep in and check on him? See if he feels hot/sweaty? I’m sure he would wake up if he was really warm. Try opening his door/windows upstairs to create a draft like a pp suggested.

I've just crept in to check on him and he doesn't feel too warm. The gro egg said 22.6

22.6 sounds fine with what he's wearing. He may get a bit warm but like PP's have said he'll just wake up.
I'd keep his door open and his window too if you can
