23 degrees in bedroom.

Hi I have an 8 day old baby and it’s currently 23 degrees in the bedroom. I’m wondering what to put baby in? He is currently in a vest, nappy and has a cellular blanket. Does this sound ok?

I think that sounds fine. Generally baby would only need to wear one more layer than you are wearing, so if you feel that even one layer of the blanket is too much, then a large folded muslin could work.

A long sleeved babygrow with no legs and a nappy plus a single layer of cellular blanket tucked firmly round him from under arms down will be ideal. Just keep an eye on the temp later as it can drop a fair bit quite quickly night

@JohnLapsleyParlabane thank you! That’s what I’m struggling with because I’m always cold! Im in a nightie but will have the duvet on still!

@ChristinaMarlowe than you for your reply! I didn’t buy any long sleeved vests so unfortunately don’t have any. I do worry that his little arms will be cold! We aren’t getting much sleep so I will be able to keep an eye on the temp and pop a sleep suit on if necessary.

I'd probably pop him in a light sleepsuit - no blanket. My lo always kicks them off anyway.

What about a vest and sleep suit or just a sleep suit with no blanket? At least then his arms and legs would be covered but not too much

Celebelly · 03/08/2019 00:37

I would do sleepsuit, no vest and no blanket I think.

Sleepsuit. No vest. No blanket

My little ones would always kick a blanket off so I’d either put them in a vest and grobag or a sleep suit no blanket
