Formula to blue top

I'm weaning my son onto whole milk.
We have done it gradually now on 1oz formula 8 oz blue top.

What next I try the switch and he refuses it can't be the temp as currently the 8oz is straight from fridge.

How old is he? How much milk is he having? Are you still using bottles?

PixieLumos · 01/08/2019 19:33

I just did a straight switch. I’m a bit confused by your post - are you mixing them? Giving it cold? I warm the milk in the microwave.

My children are 4 and 5, and they still prefer milk warm 😳

He is 1, bedtime bottle is 9oz. He has another couple in day about 6oz.

I make the 1oz of formula and top up with cold milk. He doesn't mind cold milk when we go out I use ready made formula which isn't warmed.

Pop it in the microwave for 30 seconds. Does the trick for my DS.

Room temp bottle is different to straight out the fridge. I bet that one ounce is taking the chill off. Warm it up in the microwave for 20 seconds.

That’s a lot of milk. I would start swapping for cow milk in a cup during the day.

I was going to say that's a lot of milk too, my DS is 18 months and since he was 1 he has had a 7oz cows milk at bedtime that's it, I just warm it for 30 secs in the microwave to take the chill off, we didn't need to transition though luckily he just switched straight to cows milk

We have just swapped our DC and yes it needs to be microwaved for her as PP have said.

We did it slowly as well as I have seen other babies get upset stomachs from a straight switch.
