I am doing some research into nurseries and wondering how parents feel about SEND children in mainstream nurseries and whether there is a gap in the market for a specialist SEND nursery

I taught SEND five year olds. Some nurseries manage them brilliantly, others don't. When I went to visit prospective pupils, the worst were the huge free flow places. Most of the time staff didn't know where the child was, and I'd often find them standing alone in a corridor, flapping. Very autistic children can't cope with the noise and the busy- ness and lack of structure.

I'd look for a small and more structured environment. But I'm not sure that an entirely SEND environment is ideal either
