Weaning baby off dummy

We have been using a dummy at night to help 8 week DD get to sleep. I'm regretting it now because it constantly falls out of her mouth or she pushes it out during her naps or at nighttime, and then at some point she realises it's fine and starts rooting round for it in her sleep to the point where she wakes herself up unless I can get it back in first!

I would love to get her off the dummy now as I feel it's preventing her sleep being continuous, and the rooting is waking me up a lot. Any tips for how to wean her off it without nights of crying as I'm already exhausted!
