DS no milk tonight...

Today DS (14 months) has been a bit unwell. Heavy eyed and whinging a bit but nothing too bad. He's breastfed but has a bottle of formula at bedtime.

He had plenty of milk in the morning - early afternoon. Then we went out and he wasn't interested, offered him his beaker of water but he didn't want it. Roll on bedtime and he won't have his milk. He drank 1.5oz and has gone to sleep. I've placed the bottle in his cot for him if he wakes up (we usually do this, can hear when he wakes and drinks so perfectly safe).

I'm just worried that he's dehydrated. He hasn't drank anything substantial since about half 1. I'm trying to wean him off the breast during the night (hence the bottle) but I'm worried he'll wake and not accept it - if that happens should I offer him breastmilk? Or do I leave him to it and trust that if he's thirsty he'll have his bottle?

Can you give him some water instead of milk? Has he had wet nappies? Kids can go off milk if they are catching bug or something but I will be inclined to offer sips of cool water or diluted squash.

Plenty of wet nappies thankfully. I will take his water upstairs to him when he next wakes, I don't want to disturb him as he seems poorly and was totally exhausted! I'm just worried he'll protest the bottle / beaker because he wants to be breastfed.
