Start-Rite shoes vs Clark's/Next

Could someone please clarify- are start rite shoes generally 1/2 size bigger than Clark's and next? So if my girl is a 12 in Clark's and next and I'm looking at a 12.5 in those, then I need a 12 in start-rite as that is. 12.5 in Clark's and Next? (I've seen some lovely shoes in their online sale for September). The lady in the shop looked at me like I was mad but I'm sure there's a 1/2 difference with this brand?

Yes there’s quite likely a difference between brands so good to get child measured in each shop.

I've found nearly every shoe is different, widths as well. I would get measured and then order them and see how they fit. You might want to order 2 and return the ones that don't fit if you are really keen.

I found that start-rite shoes had more depth than clarks so were better for dd. SHe always had the same actual size though. Clarks suited ds better. Next shoes didn;t come in half sizes so rarely fitted as dd always seemed to be in between or they were not wide enough.

Next have a measuring and fitting service instore. We bought at one trainers for DD recently and I was really impressed. I'm rubbish at working out if shoes fit properly myself and like having a fitter to help.
