Just watched "how to shop well for less" BBC1. Featured lovely family with 8 children !.Watched in awe ,as the mum was so well organised and had lists /whiteboards for everyone. Lived with no CC entirely on hubbys wage (Tool Grinder).Does anyone else have larger than average families, and how do they cope ?

I have 4 other siblings, my mum was quite chilled out tbh! She coped well with us all and was always complimented on how polite we all were and well behaved. I think the coping part definitely comes down to the respect you should have for your parents. Of course we back-chatted at times but we know when we had crossed a line. We knew what we were and weren't allowed to do and we knew when we pressed our parents buttons 😂. But if they said no, that was simply it, it was no, end of. I think that's what helped them cope is the respect they had for us and the respect we had for them. My dad worked 7 days a week and my mum weekends and evenings to support us.

I'm one of six and have five of my own. No idea whether it's because I watched my mother raise us or whether I'm naturally organised but I found it pretty easy tbh. Dm used to run the house like a military operation, we were always well turned out and well behaved (df was very authoritative and would have tore a strip off us if we had behaved badly)
My own are easy and laidback which makes a difference and I have always had routines from baby number one's first days and everything and each child slotted into the routine.
I only have two at home now so the days of pushing a double buggy and walking three others to school seems a distant memory. I still have routines though although they are far less intense and pressured than they used to be but even the dog knows the routines.
