Hot weather and newborns

I'm from the uk and we are experiencing unusual hot weather for our country, how can I keep my newborn cool? We have a fan in our room but a few times when I've picked her up her back has been so sweaty. Worried she will 'over heat' and it must be so uncomfortable for her. Is she aloud in a paddling pool? Can I give her 'Milk popsicles' or anything else to cool her down. Thanks in advance x

Funny enough I posted a related thread earlier today www.mumsnet.com/Talk/parenting/3646680-how-are-you-keeping-babies-room-cool-in-this-heat

But if you're BF'ing, make some BM ice lollies. Great way to keep them hydrated and cool

Oh thank you. I'm not breastfeeding feeding but is it save to freeze formula and make popsicles out of that?

@charlottrebekah I think I've read that it doesn't work as well with formula (something about how it separates when frozen). But maybe could freeze boiled water?
