Boyfriends family

My boyfriends family are still friends with his ex even though she has been very difficult while trying to co-parent their child(the relationship was not healthy). I find it very difficult to deal with as I don't want my child around the toxic situation. Parts of his family make more effort with the ex than him even though she makes his life hell at times(feels like she does it for fun). As a result of this I have developed anxiety with the whole situation as it feels they make more effort with the ex and no one cares about my partner or me.
I don't trust his family with my baby but I think they expect it to all be the same how it was previous with his ex.
Having a conversation with them will only result in "she has been a part of our lives for blah blah many years" as I've had before.
I don't feel like I can ever sit down with the ex either after everything she puts my boyfriend through

I feel at a loss of what to do as his ex will always be in the picture but I don't know how much more I can take moving forward

  1. They are right. She is the mother of their grandchild / niece or nephew. If they want a relationship with the child they need to maintain the relationship with their mother.
  2. Why don't you 'trust his family with your baby ?
  3. Isn't it his baby as well ?
  4. Why wouldn't a family expect their ds's partner to have a good relationship with them ?

My xH's family were all really nice to me, and we have stayed in touch for years. But then I think that's because know how he treated me, and why I left him.
