Baby suddenly drinking less

Hi all.

DD is 18 weeks old and formula fed. Normally she will drink 6/7oz every 3/4 hours, but for the past few days I’m lucky to get 4oz in her! If I try and give her more she will push the bottle away with her hands, turn away, cry, ect.

She had her 16 week vaccinations last week, could that explain it? It’s also been very hot here. DD seems perfectly well in herself, happy and content and still having wet and dirty nappies. Just worried she’s not getting enough!

Thanks Smile

Funnily enough my DS is also 18 weeks, had his jabs last week and has been exactly as you described! He's still fairly happy on a daily basis, but this past week he hasn't been sleeping through the night anymore (not waking constantly, but certainly more unsettled).

I did wonder if it could perhaps be teething? I know babies can lose their appetite whilst teething. I think I also read that nursing can cause discomfort to the gums, and so they're often quite fussy during this time. I tried putting some teething gel on his gums before a feed and that did seem to help :)
