Hello, my name is Heather James and I am a researcher at the Centre for Academic Mental Health at Bristol University.

I am conducting a study about how women who experienced depression during pregnancy made decisions about treatment. I am particularly interested in women’s attitudes to taking antidepressant medication during pregnancy.

Taking part involves filling in 2 questionnaires followed by a 30-60 minute informal interview about your experiences. The interview can be done in person (if you live in the Bristol area) or on the phone (if not).

We are pleased to offer a £10 Amazon voucher to all participants as a token of thanks.

You are eligible to take part if:

  1. You suffered from depression or depressive type symptoms during your pregnancy, within the last 3 years (AND/OR you were taking antidepressants before falling pregnant and made a decision to continue/stop them)
  2. You are not currently pregnant
  3. You are not currently actively engaged in making a decision about treatment options for depression

Please note you do not need to have taken antidepressants to take part.

If you are interested in taking part, please contact me at [email protected] or send me a private message and I will be delighted to give you some more information.

Hi. I would be happy to do this as I've had 4 pregnancies and been depressed during all 4. My experiences each time completely different as was my antidepressants.
