My 6 year old has had a glowing school report, I've been working a lot this week and I'm working tomo and dh is away all week so today is our only day together for a few weeks.

We had planned to go to the cinema, maybe the toy shop and me and dh would have had a nice family dinner too.

DD has been horrendous this morning, she's got terrible attitude, she's screamed in my face, she's stormed off to her bedroom we've had door slamming and quite honestly I've said I'm not
Taking her anywhere.

She's come down when I said this and tried to apologise- admitting she's only saying sorry so she can go to the cinema. We've said it doesn't work like that. Cue more screaming, crying, door slamming, that I'm a horrible mum and should just go to work.

DH thinks we shouldn't take her out anywhere now, and whilst I do agree I feel guilty. I know she needs to learn consequences.

Can I just ask for som advice please? As I'm slightly
Hormonal and heavily pregnant and totally fed up tbh!

Sit her in time out for 6 minutes, then ask what she is apologising for then move on. No point spoiling your only day off really. She is 6 years old, enjoy your day off with her.

Personally I would take her. Leave her alone for a while and give everyone time to calm down. Then go out this afternoon.

This reads to me like she's screaming out for some attention and reassurance. I'm not surprised if you've both been busy and she's probably anxious about her soon to arrive sibling as well.

My eldest DS is 6 and he's had his moments lately. It's been the end of the school year and I've been mad busy and stressed with work lately as well. We had a chilled out family weekend last weekend with lots of cuddles, being lazy in our Pj's and it was just what we all needed.

Thank you, I think exactly how you are all thinking tbh
