Teething 18 month old - help!

My 18 month old really struggles to teeth and it can take 3- 4 weeks for a tooth to come through properly. She only has 6 teeth so far and each one has been a saga. Her nappies are awful (often for 8-10 days) she gets a temperature, a cough and a snotty nose, her mouth just drips and she constantly bites on her hands. She is also unsettled at night and sometimes the temperature can make her sick.

Has anyone else experienced this?
Does anyone have any tips?

I’ve been reading online and everything I read says that a raised temperature, bad nappies and cold symptoms are nothing to do with teething and as a result of a virus. Now I’m panicking that I keep missing viruses and am blaming teething instead!

My DS always gets a really snotty nose, dribbles constantly and has really acidic smelling nappies. He often gets a temperature. All connected to teething. He's a similar age but only has the back molars to go. I give calpol and use anesbol liquid but there's not that much you can do really.

Our 14 month old has a terrible time teething too.
We alternate Calpol and ibuprofen when it's really acute (night times are esp bad).

He also seems to get some relief from chewing on this teething dummy

We put Dentinox teething gel on the dummy and that seems to help. Anbesol liquid is fab too.

Well the treatment for viruses and teething is the same - lots of cuddles, low stress foods, calpol.

Does she go to nursery?

Teething is ust teeth coming in so the dribble, biting and misery is that, the other symptoms are viral and happen at the same time because they are run down. Calpol, cuddles etc to get through. Teething is shit

My daughter wears an amber necklace. It's amazing and has definitely helped with the miserable symptoms you've described

Thank you everyone! I’ve ordered the teething dummy, Polestar50. And we are just dosing up with calpol and ibuprofen. Hopefully she will start to feel better soon!
