What is wrong with my grumpy baby?

Here is the list of what DS is up to:
1)Crying when I leave the room
2)Not settling at sleep times
3)Crying when trying to feed him
4)Arching his back whenever I try to pick him up
5)Doesn't want his nappy changed
6)Fussying over his milk
7)Happy and content at all other times

DS is 8.5mths and today it has taken 20mins for him to settle (very unusual for him) It was quite distressing as when I left him in his cot he got straight up and started crying, it was a really angry cry which stopped as soon as I went in the room
What I don't understand is that he is very happy as long as he is crawling around and pulling himslef up on the things so I don't think he is poorly.
Is this separation anxiety cos' if it is, it's his 2nd lot

Bit of a cliche I know, but could it be teething?

wellsie. My ds was a grumpy monkey - but since he has been able to walk and talk he has been much happier.

Could he be frustrated because he is at that age where he wants to do more - but cant? It sounds like he wants to do his own thing and all the things you want to do with him (the essential stuff) are stopping him from exploring.

Also as was suggested could he be a bit touchy because he is teething?
Try not to worry too much. He is striving for independance and I promise it does get better as they get more mobile.xjo
