Bedtime Bottle - Before or After Bath?

Since birth I have given my 11 week old a bottle before putting her down for her bedtime. She has reflux so I tend to have to cuddle her upright for a good 20-30 mins after a feed and also make sure she's winded properly before I lie her down or else she will spit up a lot.

Tonight we done bottle before bath as she seems to be getting hungry quite early in the evenings (around 6:30) and she gets HANGRY quick. She then got her bath about half an hour after this bottle, then massage and quick cuddle before putting her in her crib.

So far she seems so much more settled, so making me think I should switch her routine and do bottle before the bedtime routine.

What does everyone else do?

I fed last but my child didn’t have reflux. If it works for your child it doesn’t matter what order you do it.

Mine have always had milk just before bed, even as toddlers when they were having milk from a cup. It's possible maybe she is just tired earlier and you could start the whole thing sooner. But really it doesn't matter and it's whatever works for you.

Do whatever works for you right now. At 11 weeks old it is likely in a few weeks time your routine will change again.

That sounds like a good idea. Later when you start brushing her teeth ideally you should do it after the bottle so this way it's already separated from her falling asleep.

I was considering changing too I do bath, bottle, bed but I was considering bottle before bath as my LO kicks off waiting & it’s not so much a calm bath before bedtime it can be stressful. I don’t think it really matters it’s just a routine & you tweak it to see what works best for you x

@BertieBotts actually dentists now recommend brushing teeth before the bedtime bottle as otherwise you are brushing the sugars in the milk into the teeth. My dentist said to offer a few sips of water after the bottle to wash the milk off the teeth.
