Ergobaby sling - questions

Hi

I've got the cool air mesh and I'm trying to move my 5.5month DS to be out facing but every time I put him in it the top head rest bit is covering his face. He is a tall boy and I've got the bottom on the furthest away velcro bits but I'm so confused why it's coming up so low and covering his face .... I've tried different positions but they are all bad. Wonder if he just has super long legs and a tiny body? 😆

Does that make sense and can anyone help?!

I think I know what you mean (I have this carrier) and you can fold the head rest down and button it lower for forward facing. Have you done that? Sorry hard to explain without showing you!!!

Yes I've buttoned on the lowest! ☹️

Oh :/ is he quite a small baby? Maybe you will have to keep him inward facing for now if it's on the lowest already

This doesn't answer your question - and it's entirely your call of course - but what's the reason you're wanting to turn him outfacing? He's still very young at 5.5 months and there is no need to ever have them facing the world as it can be very over stimulating for a baby and they are in a position where they can't turn away from it. I wore mine (chestfacing) for years and they always just turned their head when they wanted to look at things. No judgment if you really want them outward facing - you know your baby - but I thought I'd just give you another point of view.

No advice, but I have this exact issue with my Ergobaby (Omni 360) sling! Baby also 5.5 months. I tried searching online for anyone who'd experienced similar and drew a blank so concluded mine must just be a short-bodied, long-legged baby Grin Will be following for an answer!

He hates facing inward he is always trying to turn his head to look around. I basically can hardly use the sling with him facing inward as he just starts pushing back trying to look out. So I just thought he might prefer outward. I live in an apartment up two flights of stairs so I'd love to use the sling more if I'm just nipping to the shops, without carrying the pram which is so hard.

The weird thing is I know he is really talll. He was 98th percentile at birth and he was in 6-9 baby grows at 3 months... last time I checked he was 27inches long.

Ooooo only other thing I can think - is the carrier set to the correct setting? On the belt I think it is (haven't got mine to hand) there are different adjustments depending on height? Does baby look and feel properly sat in the seat bit?
