6 month old just fell out of bouncy chair

My 6 month old was sitting in her bouncer chair and I was in the same room, getting her a dummy and just about to strap her in. I was only a couple of feet away but she suddenly leaned forward and managed to awkwardly tip herself completely out. She was hysterical and crying and I was trying to sooth her, she probably cried for 10 mins and then I managed to sooth her and she even managed a tiny giggle at a song she likes. I fed her and she ate loads and is now asleep.

I don't know if she needs to be checked or what signs I should be monitoring for- has this happened to anyone else? Someone please help.

It’s fine, there’s no need to worry.

I think it's not being alert when awake, fluid from ears, vomiting and just anything unusual for that child.

My 7mo has bashed her head hard on the floor and furniture so much recently Blush and she's been fine, think they're quite bouncy and tough.

She had a tiny bit of a runny nose straight after but that's stopped now - is that a concern

A bit of clear coming out of her nose

Her nose was runny because she was crying. She hasn't fallen far, she will be fine.

daisypond · 07/07/2019 18:49

That’ll be a bit of a runny nose from the crying.

Jemima232 · 07/07/2019 18:49

The runny nose would have been from crying.

I'm sure it's fine. If they cry as soon as they hurt themselves there's nothing to worry about, as long as they don't then become drowsy and start being sick.

Thank you all I'm now sitting on the sofa in tears and she's asleep.

I know I'm being a total pain here - I can't be certain the runny nose was snot it was clear water. Apart from that and the crying though no other signs. So if it is just the runny nose do you think she will be ok?

When she fell because she tipped herself forward and out she kind of flipped and landed on her head that's what's panicking me

Yes, a bouncy chair is not far to fall. One of mine once fell out of a high chair onto a hard tiled floor. Not recommended!

daisypond · 07/07/2019 18:55

You’re overworrying here. Even landing on her head it won’t matter. She cried and she’s now fine. There’ll probably be plenty more of these types of accidents to come!
