Am I going mad?

Happily left my house for my class starting at 11 today...only to arrive and remember that it started at 10 and had just finished. They all looked at me like I was mad. I'd already been to three classes! I had to leave pronto - I was so embarrassed. My son is 7 weeks old and I had the most sleep I've had since he was born last night so I can't even put it down to sleep deprivation.

Share your stories make me feel better!

In the midst of newborn sleep deprivation I once washed my car keys. Put them in the washing machine. Just they keys, nothing else, put washing tablet & softener in. On. Didn't even realise I'd done it until I went to leave the house later. The noise of the keys washing didn't even trigger a "what's that noise"....

Glad I'm not the only one. Keep thinking I'm doing well only to go and do stuff like this!!!

Yep. I frequently used to leave the house and return to find I'd left the front door wide open. Sometimes the postman would just quietly leave the mail inside the door 😳. Luckily I live in a fairly nice neighbourhood and nothing happened.

I also used to have 'hand amnesia'. This would happen when I would pick up things I needed to go out (purse, phone, keys etc) and the moment it was in my hand my brain would mentally tick it off and then I would promptly just put it down again and leave without it.

You'll get back to human soon OP x

"Hand amnesia" that is brilliant. Perfectly describes it. I too had hand amnesia.

Loads! - Orange juice in tea instead of milk, sandwich in the bin instead of the fridge. My favourite is actually my Husband's - he went upstairs to change DS's nappy. Forgot to take DS with him.
