7 month nappy changing dislike

My 7 month old has just learnt to crawl this weekend just gone and since then he fights having his nappy changed, as soon as we put him down on the change mat he starting trying to turn over and grips the top of the mat and sits up. I’ve tried giving him a toy to hold whilst I change him but just doesn’t work, it’s a nightmare cos when he poops it’s hard work trying not to get it everywhere. I really don’t know why he’s started doing this. Eek anyone else’s little ones do this?

I think they all do it sadly! It’s not fun

It's a messy nightmare! Distraction works some days and not others. You're not alone!

Still doing it at 19 months I'm afraid. He has a few favourite songs that he likes to join in with now. For a while I had a box of toys below the change table that he only got during nappy changes.

We switched to pull ups when he was about 5 months old. Made it a lot quicker and easier!

Mine liked something he wasn't normally allowed, like my phone or my keys to distract him.

Wait till he starts walking Shock

Distraction works for a while but I think.uoy just have to be quick and determined!
