My two children were playing in garden yesterday one is six the other 2.5 years old my husband was watching them whilst nipping in and out of the house unloading washing to take to line etc. My youngest had an accident that wasn't witnessed by me or husband but by my eldest little one had bit their tongue quite badly. All is fine spoke to 111 told to keep lo home keep it clean and it will heal nicely. But its got me thinking what age did you leave your children in the garden unsupervised or for short periods of time ?

Depends on the garden- if I couldn’t see them at all, probably quite a bit older- but my kitchen opens out onto the garden and my garden is very child friendly so no problem with my 4 year old playing unsupervised, probably younger really- maybe a sensible 3 yo

Mine played in the garden unsupervised from about 3, but I don't mean unsupervised for hours, just as I came and went or while I was in the kitchen cooking dinner (can see most, but not all of garden from kitchen). We lived at the end of a private road though with no nearby neighbours, not close to a major road, no random people wandering past.
