Bed and hot weather

What are your children wearing to bed tonight? My dd is 1 and we've obviously not had the heating on today, it's still quite warm Blushis a vest and a nappy ok? Or should she just have a nappy on? Sorry if this sounds stupid!

My DS is one and he's just in a nappy. Thermo says his room is 27.5 degrees. He was also in a sleeveless vest but woke up crying and was quite sweaty.

lancslass17 · 29/06/2019 22:00

My almost 1 year old is wearing nappy, a short legged short armed romper and 1.5 tog bag. The egg says 23.8 x

meow1989 · 29/06/2019 22:04

My 1 year old is just in a nappy and the egg says its 27 degrees... overnight I'll pop a vest and some ph trousers on if it drops below 22 ish.
As an aside: it took from 6.30 until 9 to get him down to sleep tonight poor thing, he was so hot and bothered that we brought him downstairs twice before finally settling him. I hate this weather Sad

My almost 9 month old is in just a nappy... his room is 27 degrees. Today is the first time we've put him to bed without his grobag on (we've been giving him a 0.5tog one lately)... It's just too hot for anything really!

Smurf123 · 29/06/2019 22:21

My one year old is in nappy and 1.0 sleeping bag with a fan on.. Room says 23 degrees.. He's woken once already

Rangeloaf · 29/06/2019 22:24

My 3 year old is in pyjama bottoms and a thin sheet. It’s 27 in there. At 1 I reckon just nappy if that hot

CoffeeAndCakeEssentials · 29/06/2019 22:29

DS6 is naked. DS3 is in just his pull up. DD 2 months in just nappy. It's roasting 🥵

Cuppa12345 · 29/06/2019 22:30

My 1 yo is just in a nappy and the room is 29C 😩

whitehalleve · 29/06/2019 22:31

1yr old is in 26 degrees room wearing sleeveless body suit and 0.5 tog grobag. I always go by what the Grobag guide says to put her in.

FenellaMaxwell · 29/06/2019 22:32

DS is in a short, light romper and a 0.5 tog - it’s 26 in his room at the moment but with the fan on feels much cooler and he HATES being cold at night. He’s 2.5.

happymummy12345 · 29/06/2019 22:33

My son is in shorts and a vest. His room is saying 27 (it seems to have hot warmer as it's got later for some reason). Luckily the sun is round the back in the morning so it's gone by early afternoon.
Our room is hotter than his, as it's at the front so has the sun all afternoon and evening.

katmarie · 29/06/2019 22:36

17 month old ds is in shorts and tshirt pjs, his room has a ceiling fan so feels warm but comfortable. I had the curtains closed all day which helps. Sun comes up on his side in the morning though so we'll see what time he gets up.

soundsystem · 29/06/2019 22:37

Two-year-old is wearing a nappy and pyjama trousers, at his own insistence. No top.

4 year old has a light nightie

29C here

moreismore · 29/06/2019 22:37

My 3 year old insisted on wearing full pyjamas, wouldn’t be persuaded otherwise! Have been in and peeled the (also insisted upon) blanket off him at least!

moreismore · 29/06/2019 22:38

27 here. Infant daughter in a vest, so much easier before they have an opinion Grin

AnneLovesGilbert · 29/06/2019 22:40

I’m clueless on this and wondering what to do with PFB who’s 14 weeks. It’s sweltering and she’s dozing downstairs now comfy in a nappy and light dress. Thinking nappy and vest, no grobag but we do have a 1 tog v light one. But I don’t know?

afternoont · 29/06/2019 22:44

I have no clue what the temperature is in here as I don't have a egg thing and now I feel silly for it when times like this happen SmileSmile

I wouldn’t have a grobag on in this heat. If they wake up cold just put layers on but you don’t want them overheating

Smurf123 · 29/06/2019 22:52

If I could get my ds to sleep without the grobag I would.. As it is it seems near impossible to get him to go to sleep without his feet tucked in (and he doesn't sleep great at the best of times!)
But on a tiny baby I would definitely not put a sleeping bag on in this heat..
Last year when my son was about 14 weeks he just slept in a shorty romper when it was hot and then a think sheet if he felt cold in the middle of the night

Firefly111 · 29/06/2019 22:59

7 MO DD is in a nappy and a vest, room temp currently saying 24 but was 25 when she went to bed. She’ll need resetting at some point as usual so I’ll pop a light blanket over her during the night if she feels cold. Wasn’t needed the last couple of nights though! Thankfully its forecast cooler the next few days!

AnneLovesGilbert · 29/06/2019 23:03

That’s useful, thank you.

3boysandabump · 29/06/2019 23:14

My 10 month old is in just a nappy.

4 year old has fleecy pj bottoms on 🙄 I did suggest he changed them for shorts but he didn't want to.

BettyButtercup · 29/06/2019 23:56

My 9 month old is in a sleeveless vest and a 0.5 tog sleeping bag with the window open. Temperature is saying 26 degrees. I've just been in to feed her and she's not a bit sweaty and her arms weren't cold either so I'd say she's just right! Will reassess at the inevitable next feed.

Vinorosso74 · 30/06/2019 00:02

OP I think a nappy will be fine tonight. It's likely to be warm overnight.
Can I ask how/why everyone suddenly has room thermometers? Surely you can tell walking into a room if it's hot/warm/ok/cold/Baltic?

TigerQuoll · 30/06/2019 03:16

Lol you guys. Try 40-43 during the day and 30-38 at night. 27's lovely
