Why does my 19mo suddenly hate her cot?!

My 19mo is normally been a fairly good sleeper but the last couple of weeks has refused to sleep in her cot - it's been made worse by the fact we went on holiday last week and she hated her hotel cot bed so would end up in our bed.

I thought maybe she just needed to get back into her routine at home in her own room but we have had a week of not wanting to sleep in her cot for naps or night time.

We put her down exactly the same as we always have - milk, bit of night garden, then into her room with black out blinds and white noise, few lullabies to get her relaxed then into bed with her favourite muslin. Except now every time we put her in the cot she sits up and screams blue murder. We end up rocking her until she's fast asleep and then transferring to cot, but even then she wakes up at night and we normally end up bringing her into our bed so we can all get some sleep Sad

She has been a bit a clingy recently- lots of mummy mummy all the time, and following me around. Is this some kind of development phase?!? A sleep regression?

Any advice appreciated! I have no idea what to do!

Your 19 month old knows if she screams she will end up in your bed.

Can one of you sleep on a mattress on the floor by her cot?

My youngest went through a phase of screaming when I put her in cot and waking up screaming through the night. Turned out it was an ear infection.

@mumto3girlys mm she has tugged her ear a few times in the day i've noticed but i'm not sure enough to be an ear infection - where there any other symptoms?

@ColaFreezePop i was thinking about trying this out tonight - thanks!

@Tiredmum21 the only other symptoms my dd used to get were tugging her ears, but not all the time and being kind of grumpy and not herself. It was always more evident at night when I tried to get her off to sleep as she'd scream every time I tried to lay her down. Then would fall asleep if I held her up but then wake several times through the night screaming. The 1st time I had no idea it was an ear infection until someone on here suggested it. She's 8 now and seems to have outgrown them.
