Advice on using dummies

Hello,

My dd is almost 10 weeks, and so far hasn't taken a dummy (rejects / gags when I've tried to use it in the past). For the past few nights, she's woken up about 10 mins after I've put her down to sleep at night (usually BF until asleep and hold upright for 20 mins as she is a sicky baby!). I tried the dummy, and she took it, and it helped her go back to sleep.

I was wondering if anyone had any advice on how best to carry on using the dummy without getting her too dependent on it? I'd quite like to use only for sleep times!

TIA 😊

Keep doing what you're doing - use it as a last resort.

We have a 6 week old super greedy baby. Sometimes last at night she'll tell us that she's hungry (even after a massive feed) but she just wants something to pacify her really so we give her the dummy and she drifts off. She tends to then drop it when she's asleep.
