Pocket nappies

OK - I am replacing my size ones with bigger nappies due to a rapidly growing little boy!!

For the first size I had bamboozles that were great but I am spreading my cloth nappy horizons a little!! I ordered a mini-selection from bumfluff (thanks, flame) and love the teddy ones (really cosy but make his large bottom look enormous and is causing dressing problems!!) and am very impressed with the swaddlebees.

So - do I get more swaddlebees or are other pocket nappies better or considerably different? The swaddlebees seem great in that they are slim and dried quickly (certainly compared to the bamboozles) and lovely colours too.

Any comments? Pocket nappies are all new to me! Thanks

I have tried swaddlebees several times and never got on with them. Always found they leaked as the inserts werent enough. My DD who I tried them on isnt even a heavy wetter. Mine were all sold on very quickly!

I havent tried any of the new pockets such as bumgenius. I havent bought any new for 3 years I think.

Of the ones I have tried these are my views:

Snap ez - Found excellent and lots of gorgeous fabric options. Bought mine second hand on UK ebay - not now an option but think you could buy from www.snap-ez.com - a US website
Fuzzi Bunz - easily available over here. Not good fabric options and not as good as snap-ez but I do find a good workhorse nappy
Minkis: Gorgeous and great nappy even at night. Made of thicker fleece so a little bulkier but I didnt find a problem really. usually aplix closing which I hate but you can buy popper closing ones.
Bear Behinds: Very limited range of fabric but some lovely ones. Fabulously made and best fit for my kids. Thick fleece like minki
Green Acre Designs: Excellent but imported from states again - dont know if anyone sells them here now
Wee Notions: Superb range of fabrics. beutifully made but I personally dont find them as easy to popper and get on and off as they have a button as part of their closure system. But really highly rated by many others and very sought after. www.weenotions.co.uk

Hello if you check out my site via here here you will see i stock oodles of them - why? well because as many will agree im obsessed with them - i use them on my ds 90% of the time. Fuzzis and Bumgenius are by far my faves - bg being birth to potty and fuzzis are sized but once on the medium they stay on that ages if not till the end of nappy life - i also use heinys, drybees and peapods - in fact all the ones i stock. I get about 3 hrs out of mine and almost 4 out of the bumgenius but i suppose that all depends on your babe. I love pockets - there simple to use and quick to dry and come in all sort of funky colours. If you want to drop me a line on anything in particular like most mumsnet sellers i will give mumsnetters an extra special deal . I have a swadlebee that i love but know others have found them near useless as i did at first. Hope that helps

I am rapidly loving Fuzzis more and more - they have more coverage across the bum than the swaddlebees

Hi, I use Wonderoos pocket nappies on my son. I find they are fab. You can get two types of insert either micro terry or hemp. The inserts do need washing quite a bit to reach full absorbancy but when they do...my son started sleeping through when he began wearing these. I always use these for night now! The fleece with which they are lined is really soft too and they come in fab colours which is always a bonus! I get mine from BabyKind Good luck!

I've gotta get the wonderoos listed, they've been sat in my bedroom for weeks now!

I find you get wing droop with them on toddlers though

oh yes i forgot about good ol wonderoos - i use ellas house or green acre inserts in mine and to have ventured overnight with them with success as theres pelnty of rom to stuff to the hilt! Oh the options are endless.

Argh. That scuppered me - straight after I posted on here and read the first few messages i noticed that the swaddlebees had leaked everywhere!!

So - will be trying other pockets. Will have a look at your site too Nappyzone! Thanks to all for the advice. Although I am not sure I am any clearer!! [confused emoticon]
