Does anybody have a child with RADs and/or PTSD? I am really struggling to parent my 9 year old daughter and the symptoms of her disorder. Any advice is welcomed. I'm at breaking point!

What professional support do you have?

Try "Therapeutic Parents" support group on Facebook. It's a closed group for privacy but just request to join and they will message you. It has all types of parents/families and loads of ideas and shared experiences.

Absolutely nothing! It's not through lack of trying though. My daughter is waiting to start attachment therapy but there is a long wait, there is no support for me.
I have tried GP, school, school nurse, YMM, NSPCC, Barnardo's and social services.

Hi, I taught a child with this and it was very difficult, near impossible at times. He was very difficult to give any boundaries to without him kicking off - but could be very sweet on a 1:1 level. He in fact had a statement and a 1:1 TA based on his emotional and behavioural needs, however they are no longer given out for this.

I'd imagine your daughter has difficulties at school? What have they said? What support is in place for her? And have you had a meeting with the Senco about her needs? They should be able to offer you support. The boy I taught received play therapy through the school which made a difference, and the therapist was also fantastic at offering ideas for me as a teacher and also met with his parents to support them. I would definitely try to push the school more to see what other support they can put in place.

The school have been amazing in pushing other services to give us support but unfortunately they just keep saying there is nothing they can do and she will just have to wait for YMM (camhs) to start therapy. I have never been so frustrated! I am a single parent so there is no respite.
