My dd turns 1 in about 2 weeks? 5th July. Would it be okay when this tub of milk runs out to just go straight into the 1-2 growing up milk? Basically just Two weeks earlier?

So for some reason my LO (11 months) won’t drink cows milk but will have it in food (cereal, rusk etc) and also doesn’t like stage 1 milk, to the point where we had real feeding issues when she was younger.. so we are on stage 3 and she loves it!

PPs are right you don’t need it but it’s not bad at all. I’ll keep trying with Cows milk too but if I were you I’d just go with whatever suits!

Echo the above- it doesn't matter as long as DC is getting the fluids & nutrients they need.
With bottles & cups, again, your DC is still only a baby, no need at all to use cups yet if they aren't comfortable with them - sure, have them available but not the only source of a drink.

Don't worry op I'm sure she will take to it, it's just different.

Iirc then it's full fat BLUE milk until aged 2, then you can switch to semi skimmed GREEN milk and from aged 5 you can use skimmed RED milk but I've never known anyone to use red on little ones.

You're doing fine OP. I agree with the ppl who say start mixing the cows milk with formula and gradually increase the %. Worked for (incredibly fussy) DS.

PatricksRum · 24/06/2019 05:31

It’s not necessary.
I put all mine on cows’ milk at around 6 months.

Why on earth did you do that?!

I started DS on cows milk at 1 but he got constipated on it. So I went back onto follow on formula. Yes it's a con because the companies aren't allowed to advertise first formula BUT... I had £300 of boots advantage card points which you can't spend on first formula, so I was all over follow on formula!

30 years ago it was the norm to put babies onto cows milk at 6 months

PatricksRum · 24/06/2019 14:41

It was also the norm not to use car seats but I'm not sure why you'd use that as a basis to advise.
