Hi all babs has chewed the nipples off me im sitting here with cabbage on my boobs. Im post c section op so mobility is limited, im sore andlike all new mums not getting the time to recover. Baby was bf for the first few days in hospital where support was amazing by MW team. Im home with big sore boobs, a big hungry baby who is happy to take a bottle with formula but I would like to combi feed.
I have a crap hand pump but the good stuff is coming in so I want to capitalize on it. Could I get some recommendations please as I might purchase tomorrow?
Pleeeeeeease no comments on how I should just offer the boob directly or whatever or positioning of baby when feeding. Thanks xx
Thanks in advance!!

I’m renting the medela symphony pump which is the double pump they use in most hospitals.

It’s expensive but very good!

Rent a Hospital grade double pump and get advice from a qualified lactation consultant (ibclc).

Be warned that combi feeding often leads to early weaning off the boob. So if you want to combi feed you will need support from an ibclc to get it right and to understand what is likely to impact your supply and therefore how to prevent you stopping bf earlier than you might like.

You can often hire a hospital grade double pump via your local NCT. (Don't need to be a member )

The spectra s1 & s2 are both Hospital grade and closed systems and affordable to buy (compared to renting others over 3 months).

Plus it is a closed system so you can sell it on. (Lots of others are open systems so should not be shared due to risk of contamination)

This company are considered one of the only breast pump companies who comply with the WHO code.

Worth renting their product if this bothers you
