Nursery questions for first time mum...

Hello!
My little boy is about to start nursery and, although we have all the settling in sessions booked for before he starts, I am curious to know how it works. For instance:

  1. what do I need to bring? I remember they said they provide food and nappies, but not creams as they are personal (of course). I assume I will bring his milk and his bottle? And sun cream and hat, and a change of cloths or two. And his dummy. And what else?
  2. how many meals a day do they have?
  3. a friend mentioned his nursery offers tea at around 3,30pm. This can't be right can it?? If so, I would probably call it an afternoon snack and give him tea once at home (he normally eats it at around 6,30).
  4. have you found your babies have changed routine going to the nursery? He is 8 months now and has a short nap in the morning and a longer one in the afternoon, but the timing is affected by the activity we are doing, where we are etc (sometimes he sleeps in the car or if we are on the move). Also he tends to fall asleep in my arms or on the boob, but he knows how to sleep in his cot as well, just it doesn't happen often during the day. Will it be a problem?

These are all questions you need to ask the nursery. For example, my DS nursery offer three meals, two snacks, any drinks. I have to supply nappies, wipes, creams, change of clothes. I think they have their "dinner" at 4 - I sometimes give DS a snack when we get in (fruit or toast or some of my dinner).

My DS has a great routine at nursery, so I can answer that last question. Yes, he did adapt to their routines.
