Tea Tree Oil

DD is teething at the mo and her wee is really smelly! Last night i did a cold rinse of the nappies as usual before washing, but added a few drops of tea tree oil to the machine to try and kill off any germs/get rid of the smell. I then washed as usual. This morning when i opened the machine the tea tree smelt really strong so i did another rinse-but the nappies still smell of tea tree oil. They've been out on the line (yay!) all morning and the smell has faded a lot but is still there slightly. Should i wash them again? DD's skin isn't particularly sensitive but she is prone to rash when teething and although she doesnt have one at the moment i don't want to aggravate things if the tea tree oil is still in the nappies. I've never used it before for nappies so am not sure if it is normal for there to still be a smell of it.

A little goes a long way with tea tree oil... I would just air the nappies for as long as possible, and then use fleece liners in them so their not in contact with her skin. My dd is teething to, so I know what you mean about the smell
