Loved Harvey Karp, who should I read next?

I read HK's fab Baby Bliss book and it has worked (so far), ds is a happy baby.

HK's advice stops at 3-4 months. What book do people recommend to follow? HK to GF might be a bit of a nightmare (although will be starting bedtime routine soon, more for me than ds).

Would describe myself as normal with lentil weaver tendencies.

The Social Baby
The No-Cry Sleep Solution
Three in a Bed (promise it is neither lentil weavery or new agey. I was surpised, given the title! I only read it because it was given as a present. Despite seeing it recommended many times here on MN.)

I moved from Lord Harvey onto No-Cry Sleep Solution, although it wasn't for me. I have The Social Toddler which is an amazing book - I guess the social Baby is its predecessor?

i LOVED his happiest toddler book. it stays next to the toilet constantly. i read it for inspiration! i didnt read his happiest baby book, so i dont know what comes next where that one leaves off. but i definitely recommend his happiest toddler book and dvd if you dont have them already! (the dvd can be rented from most of those online places.)

Social Baby is awesome. it is the predecessor or Social Toddler.

cool - will have a look on amazon for them now - thanks

Highlander - did Hk help you avoid colic? The world seems convinced that our happy baby is going to turn into a monster and I am keen to avoid this!

the 'world' is just hoping that you have the same experience as them. now if i were you, i would put on a smug smile and go polish my halo.

tomorrow is week three and no colic so here's hoping. DS does get grouchy in the evening but dh swaddles him up and then he's fine.

Have ordered Social baby and HK's happy toddler book. Thanks.

HK'd happy baby goes to three months, then the happy toddler is from one year......what do I do inbetween Karps??

i think by the time your baby gets too old for karp and with social baby, you will know your baby well enough to not too much rely on books. a good thing methinks. common sense and a bit of MN kicks in.

I liked Dr Sears books, especially Attachment Parenting, and The Successful Child in addition to HK, but I didn't follow their attachemnt parenting mantra to extremes, more of a mix. I also loved no cry sleep solution.
