Hi my 11 month old has been coughing himself awake tonight, I assume it's teething but may be a cold. What can i do to help him sleep? Thanks

Benalyn, humidifier, raise the head of his cot with books under the mattress, you could try a teaspoonful of honey, but its not recommended for under 1 yr old

As above. You can buy glycerin cough mixture for that age but never found it did much. Fresh pineapple juice is meant to ease a cough but never tried it. The Calpol plug in decongestant is good if he’s bunged up. Otherwise not much except cuddles if he actually wakes.

@lancslass17 our DS ends up coughing and with a blocked nose every time a tooth starts coming through. We've been using the Calpol saline spray and a bowl of water with some decongestant oil in it (Olbas or similar).

Put vic on the bottom of his feet. I don't know why it works but it does. I've tried it on both DC's, OH & myself

Increase humidity with wet towels in bedroom trick (google it)

Piriton is good for coughs strangely enough. I always find nurofen helps as it dries up all the phlegm if it’s that kind of cough.

I used to put honey and lemon in hot water then let cool. Seemed to ease it for DD
