Isofix base problems

I’m 38 weeks pregnant with my first and we fitted an isofix base to my car at the weekend. The foot/leg part that comes down in front of the seat seemed a bit unsteady and basically if we shook it (not hard, just wobbling the leg) the indicator part would show green, then we’d nudge it and it would show red. We got it green but I went for a drive today and when I checked it it had gone back to red. So I went to mothercare where we bought it and the woman came out to look at it, took it out and reinstalled it and the indicator showed green (this seemed like fluke as she basically also just wiggled it until it was green) so she said it was now fine. I drove the 10 minutes home and it’s red again! Should they be more secure than this? The indicators on the main bit of the base stay green just fine, as do the indicators when you slot the seat on, it’s just the one at the base of the leg that seems to just move any time the car goes over anything not totally smooth. Is this normal?

I'd return it and ask for another. Which make is it?

Bluebelltulip · 11/06/2019 14:26

Do you have the seat on it?

MeredithGrey1 · 11/06/2019 14:34

It’s a joie one, and yes the seat is on it.

I'd return it and ask for another.

So it sounds like it might actually be faulty to you then?

Joie have a fantastic helpline, they were super when I got my base stuck in the car. I'd give them a call first.

Just checking as it wasn't clear and could effect movement. I would phone Joie they have a good reputation for being helpful. Hope you get it sorted.

Thanks! I’ve sent them a fb message as I couldn’t find a number but I’ll do some more digging

I have had this with mine, it's maxi cosi . It didn't do it to start, with I think it's leg has increments it slot into and they don't always fit perfectly height wise. You could try a mat like a car mat under I found it clicks in more.
