Dressing baby after skin to skin

So, my baby was raging, as babies do. No obvious reason - she had just finished a feed, Clean nappy etc. Probably tired as she’s been awake all evening. Possibly still hungry, but screaming and arching her back when presented with boob. Anyway, after trying everything else, I stripped her off and did skin to skin which calmed her quickly and she had another feed. All good.

However, inevitably she has now fallen asleep on me in just a nappy. What do I do now??? It’s too cold to put her to bed in just a nappy. If I try and dress her she’s likely to wake up!! Do other people have this problem??? What do you do? She’s 10 weeks if that matters.

Can you just put her into a sleeping bag in her nappy? My DD has slept in just her nappy in her sleeping bag before, and was quite happy.

You can get vests and baby grows that lie flat and you put their arms through but with minimal disruption. The way it buttons up makes the legs.

No good for right now of course. Where does she sleep at night?

I'd dress properly even if it stirs her. Have 12 week old who does same sort of evening crying sometimes. Routine and same warmness as usual is key to getting the sleepy time routine going. If very gentle she might not fully wake. Leave light dim. Sending good vibes for a peaceful night!

I used to swaddle mine with thin sheets.

Pressed send too soon! That did til they woke up for the next feed in 1/2 hours, usually cuddled in the crook of my arm.

I tried dressing her and predictably, she woke, and is now screaming again. I want to cry. She is too small for sleeping bags still and I’m anxious in case she slips inside them. She’s always hated swaddling (not sure we were too proficient at doing it tbf but she always got so annoyed we didn’t persevere when she was tiny and I think she’s about the age you should stop anyway now??).

I would just let her sleep on me but I’m knackered, and from this time she usually settles in and sleeps for 5-6 hours! (I know, that’s good!!) worried I’ll fall asleep on the sofa holding her.

My husband is away with work for the first time, he quite often settles her for the night (doesn’t smell of milk!) I think she is probably picking up on my stress/worry even though I’m doing my best to stay calm.

Thanks for all the suggestions. Will look in to those vests, I think I have a couple actually but they’re too big for her at the moment,

Gro snugs fit from 5lbs so at 10 weeks she will big enough for sure! My DD was in them from birth. I prefer the Love to Dream arms up bags though - my DD prefers the position and the material is softer and doesn't ride up at all.

Aw no, have you got a sling to carry her in? Some like swaddling some don't (only one of mine did) I'm sure i walked miles pacing the house when mine were this age. White noise? Although apparently there's brown and pink noise - one if them is meant to be a bit deeper/not as staticy sounding.

I wish I’d known about those grosnugs before. She’s only a couple of oz below the weight for the normal sleeping bags now so I’m loathe to spend more money on grosnugs at this point. If I’d known I could have bought them 10 weeks ago!!

Anyway...realised she was crying more when I picked her up so left her in her Moses basket crying and rocking it..eventually she fell asleep. And seems in a much better mood this morning!!

Still haven’t solved the riddle of what to do when she falls asleep on me naked though 😂😂😂 it will happen again soon I’m sure!!
