My sons father has just picked our son up from his mams after we've both finished work and he has just pulled up with his dad in the car with our 1 year old and no car seat I am furious is only 2 mins round the corner it's probably less than a 10 min walk

No you're not. Where is the carseat? It's illegal for that age of child to travel without one
