dd (13) has terrible PMT! Is there anything she could take that might help her?

She started her periods about 5 months ago and is very regular, which is something. However, she's due on on Thursday and is noticeably more unreasonable and terribly grumpy. This has happened for the last three months. I know it sounds silly but I've never really suffered with PMT and I've never noticed it in my older dds, you wouldn't know they were on! Can she take evening primrose or anything at this age?

And also replying directly in your thread after reading other one. My DD had a really dreadful time when she started (aged 11). IMO she was too young for the enormous upheaval that was going on hormonally. She had very heavy periods, horrendous PMT (actually this seemed to just be permanent menstrual tension, nothing pre about it Grin). After trying out the combined pill to level her out a bit, eventually the mini pill sorted her out. She doesn't get periods anymore. Don't know what she'd be like if she came off the pill now that she's 16 but she's happy ergo so am I. It was horrendous for a while. There are other herbals things you could try. I am menopausal and know that my mood drops if I don't take my St Johns Wort and Black Cohosh each day. I believe Evening Primrose and Starflower oil are also supposed to help but best check with your local place that sells such things.

Evening primrose oil helped me, also cutting down on meat and dairy.

Thank you jaggy. I was thinking about the pill (it cleared dd2s bad acne) but i want to hang on if possible. I'm going to have a goid look at her diet
