6 week old baby outgrown Moses basket, what did you do?

My intention was to keep baby in our room until 6-9months. But my baby is 6 weeks and has outgrown his Moses basket. I was thinking of getting a next to me crib, but are they much bigger than the Moses basket? What did you do?

Thanks x

Chico next to me crib is good up to 6 months so that is what I have

@Mermaid04 in my Opinion yes. It depends if you have space for a full cot or travel cot in your room that might be easier but the convenience of a next2me being able to get baby in and out / feed is great!

We also took our next2me when we went on holiday as well. They're fairly easy to take down and get in The car nice and neatly.

I had a Lullago (think that was the name) by the bed until around 9 months old

I have a chicco zip and go crib. It'll definitely fit until 6-9 months. Ps if you're thinking 9 months think about something that will drop down lower, so when they can pull themselves up they can't fall out.

All of mine outgrew theirs between 4 and 6 weeks, they’re a waste of money imo. Choices are either switching to cot bed or co-sleeping. I’ve always co-slept, currently use a sleepyhead deluxe.

My lo just recently outgrown Moses at 9 weeks we bought second hand Chicco next to me with new mattress and it's lovely to have him next to me wish we bought it from the beginning, lots of space still will hopefully last few months..

My son was 97th percentile for height at six weeks and I thought he would outgrow it really quickly, but he still fits in the Moses basket at 18 weeks. He is filling it out but still has a bit of space. Are there different sizes of Moses basket, or differences of opinions on when a baby has outgrown it?

Never had a Moses basket. DD just co-slept with me.

SherlockSays · 10/06/2019 17:21

The co-sleeping side cribs are a lot bigger than a Moses basket which is why I just bought one of them from the outset.

DD had outgrown her Moses basket at 10 weeks. Moved her straight into the cot with a sleepyhead.

Frankola · 11/06/2019 19:36

My dd refused to go in her moses basket from 3 weeks old Confused

We ended up building her cot up in our bedroom and she slept next to my side of the bed until she was 6 months old and then she went in her own room.

She was already well used to her cot by that point obviously so it made the transition really easy!

We just put babys cot in our room next to my side of the bed
