Hi ladies,

So my ds is turning 3 soon , hopefully starting nursery this august-sept. Have to attend a wedding of an immediate family member next year(2020) , Will have to take my son along for the holiday which will be during term time. Will I be fined or something if the holiday is more than 4 weeks? Also will my son be out of the nursery register? Im asking about west Lothian area. Please help!

No you won’t be fined as your child won’t be at school however if you are accessing funding (30 free hours) there is some limit regarding how much holiday you can take at once I think, you will have to do some research re this.

4 weeks? Where are you going?

(Funded hours can only be claimed for actual attendance so it will mean the time you are away nursery might be full price or you might end up owing money back to the council...)

Okay does the rule apply to both council and private nurseries?

You'll have to still pay for the space for the 4 weeks.

If you are using funding yes.
