Calpol vs. own brand

I made the mistake a year ago of buying Calpol rather than an own brand paracetamol. Now DD is used to the flavour (and loves it), I'm not sure she'll accept a cheaper own brand version. Can I ask which own brand version tastes most like Calpol? Thank you!

I think you’re over thinking this!
The best one imo is the one from Tesco pharmacy, double size bottle for £2.50!! It’s the sticky sweet pink stuff. It doesn’t come with a syringe but you can re use the ones you’ve got and stick the topper from the top of the calpol bottle in the new bottle.

I use boots own. Cheaper but tastes exactly the same. We don't have Tesco ☹️

@olivo does the Boots one taste exactly the same?? Awesome! I'll definitely get it if so.

I’d second boots own. It’s yum.

I only know this as to convince ds to have some the other day we had to do one for me too.

@ememem84 lucky you 😋 I didn't have calpol as a child as I grew up abroad, so missed out on over 30 years of pink deliciousness until when I had DD!

Use Parapead as Calpol is full of additives!

A friend of mine grew up abroad and didn’t have the delights of pink calpol (not the orange stuff. That’s rank), marmite or the tv show Rainbow.

We have her some calpol, marmite and toast and found rainbow on tv for her. She thought us Brit’s were weird.

Sorry, late return but yes, seems t o taste exactly the same! Having grown up on the delights of soluble paracetamol , I personally think it is grim, but both DDs reared on it! Grin
