Hi guys i'm new here not sure where to post this just looking for a bit of advise really.
bit of backstory so my ex and I have a 7 year old son. We broke up when DS was a few months old because it was an abusive relationship and i'd have enough and managed to escaped, he moved away and contact was patchy sometimes he'd show up sometimes he didn't. he went months and on one occasion more than a year without seeing his son. so this big incident happened 4 years ago, i cant say much but it went to court and i now have a restraining order and he hasn't seen his son since. not due to me, the door has always been open via social services that was set by a sheriff. Yesterday i received a letter from his solicitor asking if i would consider letting him have visitation. I really feel he shouldn't be allowed anywhere near his son as he just uses him when he sees fit but he is his dad so is legally entitled to see him so could result in a court battled im not prepared for or sure i could afford. i dont know what to do..
