Catering ideas for birthday party

Hi all,

Please can you suggest ideas for kids party food. The boys are 7/8 years and due to varying dietary restrictions I am planning on having vegetarian food. It's in a church hall so we don't have kitchen to reheat. So my initial plan of pizza slices might not be ideal as it will turn cold? I am thinking of sandwiches cheese, jam and Nutella, crisps, drink and maybe jelly pots. Is this too less for a 4 pm snack? Should I be doing some pasta or noodles? It's a science party for one hour, then cake and food. Any tips suggestions welcome. Thanks!

I would still go with pizza. Cold pizza is the best!

Veg sticks, fruit platter, dominoes pizza delivery (always a discount code on the go) and cake!

Cold pizza is great!
I sometimes cut it into little bits and call it "pizza bites"
Also good: cheese straws, bread sticks, crisps, cakes (battenburg seems particularly popular for some reason) fancy biscuits, carrot sticks and stuff to dip them in, veggie sausage rolls.
I think kids tend to find sandwiches a bit boring at parties tbh. A lot end up left over. Also I would avoid Nutella in case of allergies.
Have fun!

Thanks a ton! Good about Nutella, probably will stick to cheese and jam. Pizza it is then :)

Oh, nearly forgot: Popcorn! Literally the least cost and effort for the most kid appeal food ever.

Might be more of a faff but my daughter had a science party a couple of years ago and we got some great ideas from Pinterest - we had biscuits iced with periodic table symbols, traffic light jelly served in small glasses with pipettes sticking out of them! We steered clear of sandwiches but had small bites - veggie sausage rolls, mini veggie sausages, cheese puff bites etc. Out of all her parties it was the best theme, so much fun - hope he enjoys it!

Oh and fruit kebabs!

Cheese, Jam and Ham sandwiches seem to go down a treat with cold pizza.

Pizza delivery. You’ll be so cool if you do that!
